About Our School
Located in the heart of Scunthorpe, our school is designed to accommodate up to 42 pupils aged 5 to 18 years, providing a safe and nurturing environment for those with complex needs. We are committed to fostering a positive atmosphere where every child feels valued and empowered. Your Role
As our Headteacher, you will be a visionary leader, instrumental in building a new team and shaping the educational experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Educational Leadership: Craft and implement a vision that embodies the ethos of the Polaris Community, focusing on compassion, inclusion, and personalized learning.
- Safeguarding: Serve as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, collaborating with partners to ensure a robust safeguarding culture.
- Curriculum Enhancement: Tailor the curriculum to meet diverse student needs, ensuring an engaging learning journey.
- Pastoral Care and SEN Advocacy: Champion emotional wellbeing and advocate for the rights of our SEN students.
- Staff Development: Mentor and support staff, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth.
- Community Engagement: Build strong relationships with parents, carers, and external partners to create a supportive network.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with primary/secondary teaching experience.
- Suitable first degree and/or NPQH (desirable but not essential).
- Experience working with SEN students and a deep understanding of their unique needs.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
