Your Role and Responsibilities

As a School Caretaker, you will play a vital role in maintaining our school environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Maintaining clean, safe, and secure school premises, including buildings and grounds.
• Carrying out cleaning, maintenance tasks, and minor repairs.
• Supervising school cleaning staff.
• Promoting health and safety throughout the schools.
• Handling porterage duties, such as moving furniture and equipment.
• Reporting any issues to the Headteacher.
• Arranging larger repairs and obtaining quotes from contractors.
• Conducting daily cleaning and emergency cleaning duties.
• Managing cleaning tools and products, ensuring good stock levels.
• Locking and unlocking the premises as required.

What We’re Looking For

To thrive in this role, you should have:

• Previous caretaking experience within a school environment.
• Experience in building maintenance and security systems.
• A solid understanding of health and safety regulations.
• Basic DIY skills and good interpersonal skills.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• A full driving license and access to your own car.
• A willingness to travel between both school sites.

Please note that the successful candidate will be required to complete an enhanced DBS check, which will be covered by Polaris.
