Founded in 1987 by a dedicated group of foster parents, ISP is proud to be the UK's first independent foster care agency. With over 30 years of experience, we have built a strong foundation of support for looked-after children, ensuring they receive the specialized care they need. Our approach centers around the child, providing a comprehensive range of services that include social workers, fostering advisors, teachers, and therapists—all working together to create a nurturing environment.

Your Role

As a Part-Time Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting foster parents and ensuring high standards of care. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing direct support to foster parents with a manageable caseload for effective supervision.
  • Conducting regular supervision sessions to monitor practice and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Collaborating with children, young people, foster parents, and other professionals to facilitate participation in assessments, planning, and decision-making related to safeguarding and child protection.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a qualified and experienced Social Worker who is enthusiastic and committed to the fostering community. Here’s what you need to bring:

  • A Social Work England-recognized qualification in Social Work or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in children and families social work.
  • A desire to work within a therapeutic model of childcare.
  • A comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation pertaining to children's services.
  • A full driving license and unrestricted access to your own car.
  • Excellent report writing skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.

Working Conditions

This part-time position is based in Chesham and covers areas including Aylesbury, Bracknell, Reading, and Woking. You will work 28 hours per week, spread over 4 days.
