Are you ready to make a significant impact on a major infrastructure project? We’re seeking a passionate Site Engineer to join our A66 project team in Penrith. This is your chance to play a vital role in delivering high-quality work while ensuring safety and efficiency every step of the way!
Key Details
Location: Penrith – onsite 5 days per week
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 45 hours per week
Salary: £32,000 - £42,000 per year + £4,750 annual car allowance + benefits

Your Role
As a Site Engineer, you will provide essential technical support on-site, coordinating and monitoring construction activities while ensuring compliance with project requirements. You’ll work closely with project teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders to deliver the project on time and to the highest standards. Plus, you’ll champion Kier’s values, fostering a culture of safety, collaboration, and excellence for our clients and communities.
What Will You Be Responsible For?
In this dynamic role, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing and controlling your section of the works in line with agreed programmes, quality standards, and health and safety obligations.
- Maintaining positive working relationships with clients and key stakeholders.
- Ensuring safe working practices are always upheld on site.
- Collaborating effectively with clients, suppliers, and business partners to achieve successful project outcomes.
- Promoting continuous improvement across all activities and sharing best practices.
What Are We Looking For?
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a degree, HNC, or equivalent qualification in Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, or have gained relevant on-site experience.
- Possess a valid CSCS card and have a strong understanding of health, safety, and quality standards within a construction environment.
- Are confident using surveying and engineering technology, including CAD, Civil 3D, Total Stations, and GPS equipment.
- Enjoy working closely with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders, building positive relationships through clear communication.
- Bring a proactive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering high-quality infrastructure and construction projects.
