Are you ready to make a difference in the world of transportation? We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative to join our dynamic Transportation team in Bridgwater. Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £27,976 to £29,000 (depending on experience) + call out + overtime

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you will be an essential part of our Operative team, ensuring the efficient and timely delivery of highway services across the Somerset network. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Promoting customer care by collaborating with team members and engaging with clients and network users in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Responding to highway defects within designated timescales and keeping relevant parties updated through tablet devices.
  • Utilizing tablet applications for incident reporting and emergency repairs, ensuring accurate records of work performed.
  • Conducting daily defect reports on vehicles and maintaining them in good order.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Hold a full driving license (LGV training will be provided once you meet necessary business targets).
  • Can work independently and as part of a team, effectively communicating any faults or issues.
