Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We're on the lookout for a passionate Street Cleansing Operative to join our dedicated team in Shropshire. In this role, you'll play a vital part in keeping our public spaces clean and welcoming for everyone.
Location & Hours
Location: Park Hall (Oswestry), Craven Arms
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week
Salary: £27,976 per year + excellent benefits

Your Responsibilities
As a Street Cleansing Operative, you will be part of a supportive team, ensuring our streets, footpaths, and public areas are maintained to the highest standards. This hands-on role allows you to make a visible difference every day, contributing to the wellbeing and pride of local residents.
Your daily tasks will include:
- Litter picking, hand sweeping, and emptying bins across designated areas
- Operating compact pedestrian sweepers and other equipment safely and effectively
- Removing fly-tipping and hazardous waste, including clinical waste (full training provided)
- Reporting environmental issues such as damaged street furniture, graffiti, or vandalism
- Engaging courteously with members of the public, promoting a positive image of Kier
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a full driving licence
- Are comfortable using hand-held devices, such as smartphones and tablets
- Enjoy working as part of a team but can also work independently
- Are happy to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Possess good communication skills and a positive, flexible approach
- Have basic literacy and numeracy skills, with a willingness to learn new tasks
