We’re on the lookout for a Highways Maintenance Operative (carriageway & footway reinstatement) to join our dynamic Transportation team in Birmingham. Location: Birmingham (B7 5HR)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £27,976 to £33,000 depending on experience + call out + overtime + standby

Your Responsibilities

As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll be an essential part of our Operative team, tackling both reactive and planned highways maintenance tasks. Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Carrying out routine maintenance and repairs on the network, operating various plant and equipment, and ensuring site and company equipment is secure.
  • Using WMS / MMW applications during incidents and emergency repairs, while maintaining accurate records of works performed.
  • Conducting daily defect reports on vehicles and ensuring they are kept in good order.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You are Street Works qualified (units 1-9).
  • You hold a full driving licence.
  • You can work independently and as part of a team.
