You’ll be based in one of our vibrant locations: Falmer, Brighton, Chatham, Kent, or Chichester, West Sussex.

Location & Hours

Location: Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex
Hours: 40 hours per week - with a minimum of 3 days in the office or on-site.

You’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing water safety, quality, recycling, and resilience across a network that serves millions of households. What Will You Be Responsible For?

As our Design Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering strategic planning, design, and construction management services. Your daily responsibilities will include:

• Leading and managing engineering design delivery for assigned projects from definition through to handover.
• Line managing Assistant Design Managers and supporting their professional development.
• Overseeing engineering assurance processes and ensuring adherence to quality procedures.
• Collaborating with engineering discipline leads to ensure optimal design methodologies and outputs.
• Driving innovation and engineering excellence through partner forums and supply chain engagement.

What Are We Looking For?

This role is perfect for you if:

• You hold Chartered Engineer status with a degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• You have significant, proven experience in engineering design, construction, and management.
• You possess in-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, making complex technical concepts accessible.
• You hold a Full driving licence.
