Are you ready to make a difference this winter? We’re on the lookout for dedicated Winter Maintenance Drivers to join our dynamic Transportation team in beautiful Shropshire. If you’re passionate about keeping the UK moving, even in the coldest months, we want to hear from you!

Location: Shrewsbury, Craven Arms, or Oswestry - Shropshire

Contract: Fixed term zero hour contract until April 2027 - Flexible days, nights, and weekends - Call out & weather dependent

Salary: £18.50 per hour - Weekly pay

Your Mission

As a Winter Maintenance Driver, you’ll play a crucial role in our Maintenance team, ensuring that roads remain safe and accessible during winter weather. Your primary responsibility will be driving gritting vehicles to spread salt on the roads, keeping the UK’s highways clear and safe.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Driving a gritter vehicle during unsociable hours
  • Fitting a snow plough when adverse weather strikes
  • Maintaining accurate driver and vehicle records

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You can be fully flexible to meet rota needs, including unsociable hours (you must not be covering more than 11 hours in another role)
  • You hold a current HGV Class 2 licence as a minimum
  • You have CPC accreditation and are willing to undertake training related to the role
