Location & Hours
Location: Birmingham, Manchester, Newcastle, and Penrith - with remote working options available and occasional office visits required.
Hours: 40 hours per week - we offer flexibility, so just let us know what works for you!
Salary
Starting Salary: From £46,000 per annum

Your Role
Do you…
- Design and develop ITS solutions such as CCTV, VMS, MIDAS, and communications networks?
- Produce high-quality technical outputs including drawings, BoQs, reports, and risk registers?
- Support feasibility studies, options appraisals, and business case development?
- Provide clear, practical technical advice to clients and stakeholders?
- Enjoy combining hands-on engineering with leadership and mentoring responsibilities?

About the Role
As a Senior Engineer within our Professional Services Team, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering strategic and technical leadership to our highways clients. You’ll guide technology schemes from initial concept through to preliminary design, all while working for a company that values innovation and excellence.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Lead highways technology schemes from concept to preliminary design, including ITS solutions.
- Produce high-quality technical outputs such as designs, specifications, and reports.
- Provide expert advice and technical governance to clients and stakeholders.
- Support feasibility studies and business case development.
- Mentor and manage junior team members, offering coaching and support.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a degree in an engineering or science-related discipline and are Chartered or working towards chartership.
- You have strong experience in delivering ITS consultancy, design, or project management.
- You’re comfortable managing workloads, programmes, and stakeholder relationships.
- You possess knowledge of ITS, highways technology assets, IoT, telecoms, and IP systems.
- You have excellent communication skills with a practical, commercial mindset.
