Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of water services? We’re on the lookout for a Design Manager to join our dynamic Southern Water Services Strategic Development Partnership Framework team, based in Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex.

Location & Hours

Location: Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex
Hours: 40 hours per week - with a minimum of 3 days in the office or on-site.

Your Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage engineering design delivery for projects that enhance water safety, quality, recycling, and resilience across a network serving millions of households. You’ll play a pivotal role in delivering projects that truly make a difference to our environment and communities while collaborating with talented teams.

Key Responsibilities

As a Design Manager, you will:

• Lead and manage engineering design delivery for assigned projects from definition through to handover.
• Line manage Assistant Design Managers and support their professional development.
• Oversee engineering assurance processes and ensure adherence to quality procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering discipline leads to ensure optimal design methodologies and outputs.
• Drive innovation and engineering excellence through partner forums and supply chain engagement.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

• You hold Chartered Engineer status with a degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline.
• You have significant, proven experience in engineering design, construction, and management.
• You possess in-depth knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes.
• You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, making complex technical concepts accessible.
• You hold a full driving license.
