We’re on the lookout for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join our dynamic East West Rail team in St Neots, Cambridgeshire. Location & Working Conditions

Location: St Neots, Cambridgeshire – Hybrid working available
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 45 hours per week – We’re open to condensed hours and flexible schedules, just let us know what works for you!

Your Role

As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality geotechnical surveys for the East West Rail project. You’ll collaborate with a talented team, including Project Managers and drilling suppliers, to ensure safe and efficient ground investigations.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Planning and programming ground investigation fieldwork with drilling suppliers.
  • Tracking progress and auditing the quality of borehole log descriptions.
  • Conducting safety inspections and proactively recording near misses and incidents.
  • Identifying potential issues early and collaborating with suppliers to find solutions.
  • Supporting drill rig inspections and coordinating with the land access manager.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates who possess:

  • A degree in Civil Engineering, Earth Sciences, Geology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in delivering ground investigations and site-based geotechnical work.
  • Confidence in using AGS geotechnical data and Common Data Environment (CDE) systems.
  • Experience managing subcontractors, showcasing strong planning and communication skills.
  • A full driving license and the flexibility to travel to sites as needed.
