Join Our Team as a Section Engineer!

Are you ready to make a difference? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Section Engineer to join our Southern Water Lot 1 (Clean) and Lot 2 (Waste Water) team based in Falmer, Chatham, Chichester.

Location: Falmer, Chatham, Chichester
Hours: 40 hours per week - enjoy some flexibility on start and end times.

Your Role

As a Section Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering the Early Contractor Involvement Contract and Main Works Contract across more than 40 Non-Infrastructure schemes. You’ll support projects from the Needs Definition stage all the way through to Commissioning and Handover, working across the Southern Water territory for AMP 7, plus a 2-year extension. This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a collaborative team delivering essential water infrastructure projects!

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Ensure construction records are completed, including 'as-built' drawings and Inspection and Test Records.
  • Provide engineering support to technical problems and check that setting out works are within allowable tolerances.
  • Support the preparation of access and safety documentation during preconstruction, and oversee site surveys.
  • Prepare and communicate short-term programmes and schedules for your defined section of work.
  • Manage and supervise site engineers while participating in Daily Task Briefings and Short Interval Control meetings.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have a relevant qualification such as a Management qualification, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or Degree.
  • You hold CAT 4: Genny and CAT training, and EUSR Water Hygiene (Dirty Water) certification.
  • You’re flexible and happy working at various sites and offices across the Southern Water territory.
  • You possess strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a proactive approach to work.
  • You hold a Full driving licence.
