Your Role

As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key player in driving commercial excellence across Kier Design. Collaborating closely with the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you’ll manage all aspects of commercial activity, ensuring robust controls and clear forecasting. Here’s what you’ll be responsible for:

  • Lead subcontractor procurement: Oversee tendering, evaluation, and appointment while managing whole-life subcontract performance.
  • Support contract administration: Work with Project Leads to manage commercial risk and opportunities through effective change control processes.
  • Provide accurate forecasting: Prepare client applications for payment and manage work in progress efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance: Manage safe entry into contracts through PLM governance, adhering to commercial standards and controls.
  • Enhance team efficiency: Monitor utilization, support bid and tender activities, and foster strong relationships across teams.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have experience in a similar Quantity Surveying role within construction, consultancy, design, or term-service environments.
  • You possess strong contractual awareness, including NEC and general commercial principles, with proven experience in subcontract procurement and management.
  • You’re confident in preparing client applications, forecasting, cost reporting, and managing change control processes.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills, are detail-oriented, and can work independently across multiple projects.
  • You’re a collaborative problem-solver with strong time management skills, commercial judgment, and a commitment to our values.
