Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Design Engineer to become a vital part of our Kier Design team in Norwich. This is your chance to work within our dynamic 750-strong internal consultancy, delivering innovative Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering solutions.

Location: Norwich (Remote working available with occasional office visits)
Hours: 40 hours per week (Flexible hours available!)

Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will play a key role in our Structures and Geotechnical team, contributing to a variety of exciting infrastructure projects. Your expertise will help us deliver safe and buildable solutions that meet our clients' goals.

Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Designing Permanent Works for structures, highways, geotechnics, and infrastructure, integrating temporary works considerations.
  • Supporting tender and bid submissions with outline designs, feasibility studies, and value engineering solutions.
  • Conducting technical assessments and reviews of third-party designs to ensure compliance with client and Kier requirements.
  • Undertaking site visits, surveys, and inspections, providing technical advice on safety and construction matters.
  • Managing project deliverables, including calculations, CAD drawings, reports, and risk assessments, while maintaining high-quality standards.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You have completed a relevant professional institution IPD (IEng, EngTech, or CEng) or hold a Level 6 or 7 qualification with appropriate experience.
  • You possess a full UK driving licence.
  • You are committed to acting safely, ethically, and with care for the environment and communities.
