About Kier Construction
Kier Construction is a leader in delivering public sector works across our Eastern South region. This is an exciting opportunity to join our team working on a circa £120m defence project in Suffolk. As a Senior Design Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in driving project success from tender through to delivery, adding real value through our Design and Build capability.
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Design Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of exceptional design management across all project stages. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Managing and delivering design information in accordance with agreed programmes and schedules.
- Ensuring appointed design consultants carry out their duties and comply with standards and briefs.
- Assessing, mitigating, and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chairing design meetings, writing reports, and delivering presentations to stakeholders.
- Ensuring design compliance with health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards, and industry codes of practice.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture, with demonstrable experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
- You have experience with BIM level 2 projects and exceptional knowledge of the design process at both commercial and construction stages.
- You possess an intimate understanding of the RIBA plan of work and up-to-date knowledge of current building regulations.
- You can produce detailed presentations and feel comfortable delivering them to internal and external stakeholders.
- You hold a full driving licence.
