Are you ready to make a difference? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Design Manager to join our dynamic Southern Water Services team in one of our beautiful locations: Falmer, Brighton, Chatham, Kent, or Chichester, West Sussex.

Location & Hours

Location: Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex
Hours: 40 hours per week - with 3 days expected in the office or on-site.

What Will You Be Responsible For?

As an Assistant Design Manager, you’ll play a crucial role in delivering engineering design excellence. Your daily responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting the management of engineering design delivery for assigned projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Collaborating with engineering teams and design consultants to develop technically sound and economically efficient solutions.
  • Contributing to Engineering Project Plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources.
  • Identifying opportunities for innovation, affordability, and sustainable design with project teams.
  • Ensuring compliance with CDM Regulations and managing design-related health and safety considerations.

What Are We Looking For?

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You’re working towards a professional qualification (Chartered Engineer) with a degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • You have relevant engineering design, construction, and management experience.
  • You possess excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
  • You’re passionate about environmental improvement and driving technical innovation.
  • You hold a Full driving licence.
