Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a passionate Design Engineer to become a vital part of our Structures and Geotechnical team based in Norwich.

Key Details

Location: Norwich

Hours: 40 hours per week – some flexibility available!

Salary: Starting from £40,000 per annum

Sector: Structures and Geotechnical – Highways/Water

Your Role

As part of our Kier Design team, you’ll support the delivery of Civil & Structural Infrastructure Engineering services across a diverse range of projects. You’ll be instrumental in providing safe, buildable, and innovative engineering solutions that meet our clients' objectives.

Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you’ll play a key role in:

  • Delivering safe, buildable Civil, Structural / MEICA solutions across Temporary & Permanent Works
  • Producing infrastructure design solutions across structures, highways, geotechnics, and utilities
  • Supporting bids and tenders with feasibility, outline design, and innovative concepts
  • Driving value engineering and alternative solutions to improve efficiency and competitiveness
  • Reviewing third-party designs and managing technical risk across design and delivery
  • Leading or supporting project delivery, including site visits, client collaboration, and design outputs

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if you:

  • Are professionally developing towards or hold IEng, EngTech, or CEng (IPD), or equivalent experience
  • Are qualified to Level 6 or 7, or bring strong practical engineering experience
  • Have a background in Civil, Structural, or infrastructure design
  • Demonstrate knowledge of industry standards (e.g., highways, rail, or water)
  • Are confident working across multidisciplinary environments and complex infrastructure projects
  • Hold a full UK driving license and are willing to attend sites and project locations
