Are you ready to take your engineering career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a Senior Engineer to join our dynamic Kier Design team based in beautiful Norfolk.

Key Details

Location: Norfolk - with some agile working options available
Hours: 40 hours per week (flexibility on hours can be discussed)
Salary: Starting from £51,000 per annum
Sector: Kier Design – Civil/Structural/MEICA

Your Role

As part of our Structures & Geotechnical capability in Norwich, you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch civil, structural, and MEICA engineering services across a variety of infrastructure projects. Collaborate with our 750-strong in-house consultancy and work closely with construction, commercial, and operational teams to create safe, buildable, and efficient solutions for esteemed clients like Local Authorities, National Highways, Network Rail, and major Water clients.

  • An experienced engineer ready to lead complex Civil, Structural, and MEICA services?
  • Confident in delivering construction-focused, buildable design solutions with safety as your top priority?
  • Experienced in Permanent Works design across structures, highways, geotechnics, and infrastructure?
  • Comfortable acting as Lead Designer, coordinating multidisciplinary teams and third-party inputs?
  • A strong technical leader who can manage teams and drive high-quality outcomes?

What Will You Do?

In your role as a Senior Engineer, you will:

  • Lead the delivery of complex Civil, Structural, and MEICA services across Temporary and Permanent Works.
  • Provide Design Management leadership, acting as Lead Designer and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Support tenders and bids through outline design, feasibility studies, and buildability-led solutions.
  • Review and approve third-party designs, ensuring compliance with client briefs and standards.
  • Provide technical leadership, identifying and managing technical risks throughout design and construction.

What Are We Looking For?

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You are IEng (Incorporated Engineer) with a relevant professional institution or have substantial equivalent experience.
  • You hold a full UK driving licence.
  • You have experience working to industry or client standards (e.g., rail, highways, water, or infrastructure).
  • You possess knowledge of relevant design and assurance standards (e.g., Network Rail, DMRB, MCDHW, WIMES) - desirable.
  • You have experience in water/wastewater processes and/or M&E design (hydraulics, pump sizing, pipework) - desirable.
