We’re on the lookout for a talented Building Civils Design / Senior Civil Engineering Technician to join our dynamic Kier Design team, based in either Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham). This is your chance to be part of a well-established and supportive team, working on a diverse range of building projects and site redevelopments.

Our projects span various sectors, including education, retail, blue light, defence, conservation, and commercial developments. You’ll enjoy plenty of variety and challenge, all while being part of Kier Design's wider 750-strong design practice. Key Details

  • Location: Liverpool (Speke) or Norwich (Wymondham) - travel to the office required with some remote working
  • Hours: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week - some flexibility on hours available
  • Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Your Responsibilities

As a Building Civils Design / Senior Civil Engineering Technician, you will:

  • Produce and check coordinated civil engineering and below ground drainage drawings, design models, schedules, and specifications within a quality assurance environment.
  • Check and coordinate civil engineering and drainage design information with other technical disciplines.
  • Detail flexible and rigid pavement designs for roads, car parks, and hard standings.
  • Prepare material and workmanship specifications for civil engineering, drainage, and building elements.
  • Occasionally visit sites to carry out surveys and inspections, and attend meetings with clients and consultants.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Holds a qualification in Civil Engineering, Building, Construction, or Structural Engineering (Degree, HNC, BTEC, or equivalent).
  • Brings strong experience using tools such as REVIT, Navisworks, AutoCAD, and Autodesk Civil 3D to produce high-quality, compliant models and drawings.
  • Has hands-on experience with drainage design software such as Innovyze InfoDrainage (or similar), along with a solid understanding of drainage and SuDS systems.
  • Is confident in reviewing and checking the work of others within a Quality Management System environment.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence, has a working knowledge of BIM standards (ISO19650), and is genuinely committed to sustainability and continuous professional development.
