We’re seeking an experienced highways technology engineer with a passion for Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS). If you:
- Have strong expertise in leading technology schemes from concept to preliminary design
- Enjoy providing strategic advice and technical governance to clients
- Are passionate about delivering innovative highways technology solutions
- Have experience mentoring and developing junior engineers
Your Responsibilities
As a Senior Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in our Professional Services Team, delivering strategic and technical leadership to our highways clients. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading highways technology schemes, including ITS solutions like CCTV, VMS, MIDAS, and communications networks
- Producing high-quality technical outputs such as designs, specifications, drawings, BoQs, reports, and risk registers
- Providing expert advice and technical governance to clients and stakeholders
- Supporting feasibility studies, options appraisals, and business case development
- Mentoring and managing junior team members, offering coaching and support
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Hold a degree in an engineering or science-related discipline and are Chartered or working towards chartership
- Have strong experience in delivering ITS consultancy, design, or project management
- Are comfortable managing workloads, programmes, and stakeholder relationships
- Possess knowledge of ITS, highways technology assets, IoT, telecoms, and IP systems
- Have excellent communication skills with a practical, commercial mindset
