Are you an experienced HGV driver eager to make a tangible difference in your local community? We’re on the lookout for a dedicated Street Cleansing Sweeper Driver to join our passionate team in beautiful Shropshire!
Location & Hours
Location: Park Hall, Oswestry – site-based 5 days a week
Hours: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week – some flexibility on hours available if desired!
Salary: £27,976 per year + excellent benefits

Your Responsibilities
As a Street Cleansing Sweeper Driver, you will play a vital role in keeping our streets clean and safe. Your contributions will directly enhance the wellbeing of the community. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
- Drive a modern HGV road sweeper safely and efficiently across designated routes in Shropshire.
- Complete daily vehicle maintenance checks and maintain accurate records of vehicle condition and mileage.
- Sweep road channels and other scheduled areas, disposing of collected waste appropriately.
- Report any safety concerns, vehicle defects, or area issues to your supervisor promptly.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure excellent service delivery and uphold community standards.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for someone who:
- Holds a current Category C rigid driving licence (Class 2 HGV) – you’ll be driving up to a 20-ton road sweeper.
- Has a valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC).
- Possesses a full driving licence and a solid understanding of road safety.
- Is comfortable using hand-held devices, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Can work outdoors in all weather conditions, both independently and as part of a team.
- Has a positive, flexible approach and takes pride in delivering excellent results for the community.
