Are you ready to make a difference? We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Design Manager to join our dynamic Southern Water Services team, with locations in Falmer, Brighton, Chatham, Kent, and Chichester, West Sussex.
Location & Hours
Location: Falmer, Brighton / Chatham, Kent / Chichester, West Sussex
Hours: 40 hours per week - Expect to be in the office or on-site for 3 days a week.
Your Role
As an Assistant Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting engineering design delivery on exciting water and wastewater projects as part of Southern Water's £3.1bn Strategic Development Partnership Framework. This is your chance to contribute to meaningful work that enhances water safety, quality, and resilience for millions of households.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Support the management of engineering design delivery for assigned projects, ensuring quality and compliance.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and design consultants to develop technically sound and economically efficient solutions.
- Contribute to Engineering Project Plans covering scope, schedule, cost, risk, and resources.
- Work with project teams to identify opportunities for innovation, affordability, and sustainable design.
- Support compliance with CDM Regulations and manage design-related health and safety considerations.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You’re working towards a professional qualification (Chartered Engineer) with a degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
- You have relevant engineering design, construction, and management experience.
- You possess excellent communication skills and can explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.
- You’re passionate about environmental improvement and driving technical innovation.
- You hold a Full driving licence.
