Location
Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire (with occasional travel to various sites required)
Working Hours
Monday to Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM (with a one-hour lunch break). Please note that out-of-hours cover will be required.
About the Role
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be an integral part of our Facilities Management team, ensuring our buildings are safe, compliant, and fully operational. You’ll be based at New Shire Hall and will work across a range of contract sites, tackling both planned and reactive maintenance tasks.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Complete planned preventative maintenance tasks, including Legionella compliance, HVAC systems, pumps, compressors, and AHUs.
- Respond to reactive maintenance requests, diagnose faults, and carry out repairs to mechanical systems and plumbing.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities on our CAFM system using mobile technology.
- Liaise with the helpdesk and contract management team, and induct subcontractors to ensure compliance with health and safety procedures.
- Participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota and conduct weekly site inspections.
What We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for you if:
- You hold a full driving license and relevant qualifications such as City and Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3.
- You have experience with renewables, heat pumps, air conditioning, air handling units, and general mechanical maintenance in commercial properties.
- You’re confident using mobile technology to update work systems and communicate effectively with teams and clients.
- You’re comfortable with the physical aspects of the role and committed to maintaining the highest health and safety standards.
