Join Our Team as a Design Team Leader!
Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for two passionate Design Team Leaders to join our Drainage and Water teams in either Salford or Exeter. In this exciting role, you’ll collaborate closely with the Design Manager and our wider Kier teams to enhance team capabilities, build strong client relationships, and shape the future of our infrastructure projects.

Note: Some travel to the office is required, but we offer flexibility with remote working options!
Hours
Work a total of 37.5 hours per week with some flexibility available. Just let us know your preferences when we chat!
Salary
Enjoy a competitive salary ranging from £50,000 to £57,500 per year, along with:

Your Responsibilities
As a Design Team Leader, you’ll:
- Lead and inspire a talented team of 7-14 people, supporting their professional growth and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Act as the technical lead for your assigned work packages, ensuring designs meet various standards and are delivered on time and within budget.
- Manage programmes, budgets, and risks across a diverse range of transportation, building & development, and water projects.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, LLFAs, National Highways, and utilities.
- Drive innovation and process improvements, encouraging knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if you:
- Have proven experience in leading and developing design teams, including managing both experienced engineers and early-career staff.
- Are confident in managing clients and key stakeholders, with strong communication skills and a track record of positive outcomes.
- Have successfully delivered high-quality, compliant highway drainage and flood risk solutions.
- Possess practical knowledge of DMRB, LLFA requirements, and local authority standards.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and are willing to travel as needed.
