Contract: Full Time, Permanent, Term Time Only
Salary: £28,000 - £37,800, dependent on experience
Location: Horsham, West Sussex
Hours:
- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday: 8.45am - 4.30pm
- Tuesday: 8.45am - 5.00pm
About Apple Orchard School

Our small secondary school is designed for students who are looked-after and face SEMH challenges. We are on the lookout for a passionate PSHE/Careers Teacher who can forge trusting relationships and inspire our most vulnerable learners.
As part of our vibrant community, you will work alongside an experienced team led by our dedicated Headteacher. Together, we offer a diverse curriculum that includes a range of subjects from the National Curriculum and GCSE pathways.
Your Role and Responsibilities
As a PSHE/Careers Teacher, you will:
- Motivate and encourage young people to reach their full potential.
- Maintain high expectations and a clear vision of educational excellence.
- Exhibit outstanding classroom management and teaching abilities.
- Create and deliver engaging programs of study in PSHE, Careers, vocational subjects, and ASDAN.
- Collaborate with our supportive team to enhance the learning experience.
- Possibly teach other subjects as needed.
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
- A passion for working with young people facing challenges
- Flexibility and a team-oriented mindset
- A valid driving license, capable of driving both manual and automatic vehicles
