Location: Based at one of our depots: Weatherhill Depot (RH6 9JE) or Ford Depot (BN18 0DF).
Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday - Days.
Salary: £13.45 to £15.83 per hour (depending on experience) + call out + overtime.

Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Highways Maintenance Operative, you’ll be an essential part of the Kier Highways team, helping to deliver vital maintenance and improvement works across the local road network. Here’s what your day-to-day will look like:
- Operating light plant machinery such as compressors, rollers, and disc cutters, including daily maintenance checks.
- Assisting skilled operatives with kerbing, drainage, paving, surfacing, and repair works.
- Excavating soil, rock, asphalt, and concrete using hand and powered tools.
- Performing general site duties including sweeping, cleaning, litter picking, and handling materials.
- Carrying out tasks such as grass cutting, gully emptying, strimming, and traffic management.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You have experience in highway maintenance or a similar field.
- You possess a can-do attitude and are ready to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- You hold a full UK driving licence.
