Are you ready to make a difference in your community? We’re on the lookout for a Highway Inspector to join our dynamic team in Towcester, Northamptonshire. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure our highway network remains safe and well-maintained for everyone.

Job Details

Location: Towcester, Northamptonshire – hybrid working
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (some flexibility available!)
Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Your Responsibilities

As a Highway Inspector, you’ll be an integral part of the Asset Management and Professional Services team. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Conducting safety inspections on the highway network in line with the Highway Safety Inspection Manual and the ‘Code of Practice Well Managed Highways Infrastructure’
  • Documenting inspection findings using our asset management system
  • Preparing work packs for defect rectification
  • Managing your own schedule of walked and driven inspections each month
  • Promoting wellbeing and fostering an inclusive workplace where diversity is celebrated

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for someone who:

  • Holds GCSEs (or equivalent) and has a solid understanding of highway maintenance or a related field
  • Has practical experience in highways, civil engineering, construction, or infrastructure
  • Is experienced in conducting highway safety inspections or eager to develop these skills with our support
  • Enjoys collaborating with clients, local authorities, and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions
  • Maintains a thorough and disciplined approach to work, prioritizing safety, quality, and excellent customer service
