Locations:

Birmingham, Bristol, Cambridge, Cardiff, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Newcastle, Norwich, Plymouth – Enjoy agile working with the flexibility to work from home 1-2 days a week!

Hours:

Full-time, 40 hours per week – with flexible hours available to suit your lifestyle.

Salary:

Starting from £40k per annum.

Are You…

  • Practically-minded, with a solid foundation in civil, structural, and/or geotechnical engineering principles?
  • Working towards Chartered Engineer or Incorporated Engineer status (CEng or IEng) or have equivalent experience?

Do You…

  • Have experience in temporary works design and/or management, or other practical construction experience?

Your Responsibilities

As a Design Engineer, you will contribute to a wide range of complex construction engineering services, including:

  • Temporary works design and checking
  • Reviewing permanent designs for compliance and buildability
  • Supporting tenders and preconstruction planning
  • Providing technical support to resolve construction-stage and post-construction issues

Main Responsibilities

  • Producing, checking, and reviewing design outputs such as calculations, sketches, drawings, 3D models, reports, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with CDM, SHE procedures, and QA processes.
  • Acting as Project Lead for simpler projects, managing technical scope, programme, budget, and relationships from bid through to delivery.
  • Contributing to the continuous improvement of processes and systems, helping the business adapt to current and future challenges.
