Your Opportunity
At Kier Construction, we are leaders in delivering public sector works across our Eastern South region. This is your chance to be part of a £120m defence project in Suffolk! As a Senior Design Manager, you will play a crucial role in guiding our projects from tender to delivery, leveraging our Design and Build capabilities to add real value.
Your Responsibilities
In this role, you will be an integral part of the Construction team, ensuring exceptional design management throughout all project stages. Your daily tasks will include:
- Managing and delivering design information according to agreed programmes and schedules.
- Overseeing appointed design consultants to ensure compliance with standards and briefs.
- Assessing, mitigating, and managing design-related risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Chairing design meetings, writing reports, and delivering engaging presentations to stakeholders.
- Ensuring design compliance with health and safety legislation, sustainable building standards, and industry codes of practice.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You hold a relevant qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, or Architecture with proven experience in a design role within a main contractor environment.
- You have experience with BIM level 2 projects and a deep understanding of the design process at both commercial and construction stages.
- You are familiar with the RIBA plan of work and current building regulations.
- You can create detailed presentations and feel confident presenting to both internal and external stakeholders.
- You possess a Full driving licence.
