Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (flexibility available—just let us know when you chat with us!)

Security Clearance: Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. This process can take up to 8 weeks. To be eligible, candidates must hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

About KierBAM

KierBAM is a Joint Venture between Kier and BAM Nuttall, and we’re currently engaged in an exciting major project at the Devonport dockyard, refurbishing the Royal Navy dockyard. This is your chance to contribute your technical expertise to a significant infrastructure project that supports national defense operations!

Your Responsibilities

As a CAD Engineer, you’ll be a vital part of our BIM team, delivering high-quality technical drawings and documentation. Your daily tasks will include:

• Acting as a subject matter expert for drawing production and providing technical support to team members.
• Ensuring all drawing work complies with ISO 19650, BAM, and CAD standards.
• Supporting the Document Control team to review drawings before client submission.
• Producing rebar design and detailing work with precision and attention to detail.
• Training and mentoring site engineers and team members on drawing production standards.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

• You’re proficient in AutoCAD and have experience in rebar design and checking.
• You possess a solid understanding of civil/structural design principles and a strong background in producing drawings.
• You can collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and have strong communication skills.
• You have a basic awareness of ISO 19650 (Level 2 BIM) or BS1192 standards.
• You hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
