Are you ready to make a significant impact in the water industry? We’re on the lookout for an Electrical Project Engineer to join our dynamic Thames Water Major Projects team based in beautiful Wisley, Surrey.

About the Role

In this exciting position, you will provide LV electrical engineering expertise for industrial projects, focusing on the water sector. You’ll play a crucial role in delivering design and build services for both new and existing infrastructure assets across the Thames Water supply and treatment regions. If you have a passion for quality and a proven track record in managing Low Voltage Electrical works and Motor Control Centre delivery, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Project Engineer, your day-to-day activities will include:

  • Reviewing and commenting on electrical documentation, including block cable diagrams, load schedules, and MCC/RTU electrical schematics to ensure compliance with asset standards.
  • Representing Kier at client meetings and collaborating with the Thames Water Operations team to coordinate electrical commissioning activities on live process plants.
  • Conducting fault finding and system configuration for electrical equipment, including Motor Control Centres and local control panels.
  • Attending Factory Acceptance Tests to ensure MCC/RTU builds meet all design criteria and operate according to process requirements.
  • Supporting MCC manufacturers to ensure designs comply with Thames Water Standards and conducting technical reviews of Electrical Risk Assessments and Method Statements.

What We’re Looking For

This role is ideal for you if you:

  • Hold an HNC qualification in Electrical/Electronic or Instrumentation engineering or a similar discipline.
  • Have experience in low voltage electrical installations on large-scale water treatment works.
  • Possess a working knowledge of large motor control centres and understand communications protocols such as Profibus, DeviceNet, and Ethernet IP.
  • Are safety-conscious with experience in setting people to work safely and have strong contractor management skills.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, are versatile and reliable, and can work effectively as part of a multi-discipline team.
