Hours: 29.17 Hours per Week

Salary: Up to £15,423.23 per Annum

Location: Meoncross School

About the Role

As a 1:1 Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in the educational and social development of a Year 6 and a Year 7 pupil with Special Educational Needs. Working under the guidance of the SENDCo and teaching staff, you will:

  • Support the Class Teacher in providing tailored assistance to the pupil on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Prepare and maintain differentiated resources to meet the requirements of the pupil's Educational Care Health Plan.

About You

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience

  • Previous experience working with young people, preferably in an educational setting.
  • Experience with children with SEND, particularly ASC or SEMH.
  • A genuine enthusiasm for supporting children with Special Educational Needs.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English, grade C or above.
  • Level 3 Qualification in Learning Support or Childcare is desirable.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with children to encourage their development.
  • Experience in delivering specific support programs to individuals or small groups.
  • Knowledge of KS2/KS3 curriculum.
  • Basic computer literacy skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a flexible approach to work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support teaching and learning for individuals and small groups.
  • Deliver targeted support for pupils with SEND, including implementing IEPs, EHCPs, and intervention programs.
  • Facilitate learning across the curriculum, utilizing ICT effectively.
  • Promote positive behavior, independence, wellbeing, and inclusion.
  • Provide pastoral support and contribute to safeguarding and child protection.
  • Supervise pupils during breaktimes, lunchtimes, and other non-classroom activities.
  • Assist in the delivery of school events, educational visits, and extracurricular activities.
  • Carry out administrative duties and participate in meetings and professional development.
