Join Our Team as a Section Engineer!
Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of water infrastructure? We’re on the lookout for a Section Engineer to join our dynamic team at Southern Water, covering both Lot 1 (Clean) and Lot 2 (Waste Water) in the beautiful locations of Falmer, Chatham, and Chichester.
Location & Hours
Location: Falmer, Chatham, Chichester
Hours: 40 hours per week with some flexibility on start and end times.

Your Role
As a Section Engineer, you will play a vital role in delivering the Early Contractor Involvement Contract and Main Works Contract across more than 40 Non-Infrastructure schemes. You’ll support projects from the initial Needs Definition stage all the way through to Commissioning and Handover, making a real difference in the Southern Water territory for AMP plus a 2-year extension.
Key Responsibilities
In this exciting role, you will:
- Ensure construction records are meticulously completed, including 'as-built' drawings and Inspection and Test Records.
- Provide engineering support for technical challenges and verify that setting out works meet allowable tolerances.
- Assist in preparing access and safety documentation during preconstruction, while overseeing site surveys.
- Prepare and communicate short-term programmes and schedules for your designated section of work.
- Manage and supervise site engineers, actively participating in Daily Task Briefings and Short Interval Control meetings.
What We’re Looking For
This role is perfect for you if:
- You possess a relevant qualification such as a Management qualification, NVQ Level 3, HNC, or Degree.
- You hold CAT 4: Genny and CAT training, along with EUSR Water Hygiene (Dirty Water) certification.
- You’re flexible and willing to work at various sites and offices across the Southern Water territory.
- You have a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive approach to your work.
- You hold a Full driving licence.
