Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re on the lookout for a talented CAD Engineer to become a vital part of our KierBAM team at the Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Location & Hours

Location: Plymouth – Devonport Royal Dockyard
Hours: 42.5 hours per week (some flexibility available—just let us know when you speak to us!)

Note: We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship for this role.

Security Clearance: Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. This process can take up to 8 weeks. Eligibility criteria include holding a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and having resided in the UK for the past 5 years.

About KierBAM

KierBAM is a dynamic Joint Venture between Kier and BAM Nuttall, currently engaged in an exciting major project at Devonport dockyard. Join us in refurbishing the Royal Navy dockyard and contribute your technical expertise to support national defense operations in a unique environment!

Your Responsibilities

As a CAD Engineer, you’ll be an integral part of our BIM team, delivering high-quality technical drawings and documentation. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for drawing production and providing technical support to team members.
  • Ensuring all drawing work complies with ISO 19650, BAM, and CAD standards.
  • Supporting the Document Control team to review drawings before client submission.
  • Producing rebar design and detailing work with precision and attention to detail.
  • Training and mentoring site engineers and team members on drawing production standards.

What We’re Looking For

This role is perfect for you if:

  • You’re proficient in AutoCAD with experience in rebar design and checking.
  • You have a solid understanding of civil/structural design principles and a strong background in producing drawings.
  • You can collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team and possess strong communication skills.
  • You have a basic awareness of ISO 19650 (Level 2 BIM) or BS1192 standards.
  • You hold a passport from a NATO or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
