Location: Mount House School, Hadley Wood, EN4 0NJ
Salary: £29,890 - £34,834 per annum (0.8 FTE), dependent on experience and qualifications.
Hours: 32 Hours Per Week
Contract: Permanent | Term Time

About the Role

  • Deliver engaging and challenging Geography lessons up to A Level.
  • Support students of all abilities in achieving their potential and building confidence.

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school through co-curricular activities, helping students grow into well-rounded individuals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons up to A Level.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that challenge and support all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, attainment, and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high achievement.
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting students' academic, personal, and social development.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support student success.
  • Contribute to the school's co-curricular programme, including clubs, trips, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities Faculty and wider school community.
  • Participate in professional development, appraisal, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, behaviour, and student welfare.

Person Specification

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Ability to teach Geography up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with a passion for student achievement.
  • Ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people of all abilities.
  • Strong assessment and data analysis skills to support student progress.
  • Effective behaviour management and classroom organisation skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
  • Willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities.
