Role Purpose
Are you passionate about making a difference in children's lives? We are looking for a full-time Learning Support Assistant to join our team! In this role, you will support pupils with a range of needs, including autism, dyslexia, and ADHD.
As a key member of our team, you will collaborate with staff to provide exceptional support in the classroom, in small groups, and on a one-to-one basis. Your goal will be to enhance learning, promote independence, and foster self-esteem and social inclusion.
What You Will Be Doing
- Promote the learning and personal development of assigned pupils, enabling them to maximize educational opportunities.
- Support effective learning in group settings and one-on-one, clarifying instructions and assisting with resources.
- Motivate and encourage pupils by providing tailored attention, reassurance, and support with learning tasks.
- Assist in overcoming challenges in areas such as speech and language, reading, spelling, numeracy, and social development.
- Establish supportive relationships and promote inclusion for pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
- Liaise with the class teacher, SENDCO, and other professionals to contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
- Implement agreed behavior management strategies consistently and effectively.
- Monitor pupil responses to learning activities and provide constructive feedback on progress and behavior.
- Support the development of social skills both in and out of the classroom.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies, including safeguarding, health and safety, and equality.
What You'll Bring
- Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, or in a similar educational role.
- Experience supporting children and young people with SEND (e.g., autism, ADHD, dyslexia).
- A solid understanding of how children learn and how to support their individual needs.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and families.
- A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
- The ability to adapt quickly to the changing needs of pupils.
- A proactive, flexible, and team-focused mindset.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- A willingness to undertake relevant training and continuous professional development.
