About the Role
Are you ready to make a lasting impact? Join our vibrant and ambitious school community as a Teacher of Geography (or Subject Leader of Geography). You will inspire students to explore the world around them, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and a lifelong love of learning.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver engaging Geography lessons up to A Level.
- Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that challenge and support all learners.
- Assess, monitor, and report on student progress, attainment, and development.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high achievement.
- Act as a form tutor, supporting students’ academic, personal, and social development.
- Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to support student success.
- Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme, including clubs, trips, and enrichment activities.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities Faculty and wider school community.
- Participate in professional development, appraisal, and continuous improvement activities.
- Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, behaviour, and student welfare.
Person Specification
We are looking for candidates who possess:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- The ability to teach Geography up to A Level.
- Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
- An excellent classroom presence with a passion for student achievement.
- The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people of all abilities.
- Strong assessment and data analysis skills to support student progress.
- Effective behaviour management and classroom organization skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work collaboratively.
- A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
- A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities.
