Hours: 32 Hours per Week

Contract: Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)

About the Role

Are you ready to inspire the next generation? Join our vibrant and ambitious school community as a Teacher of Geography (or Subject Leader of Geography) and make a lasting impact on the lives of young people. You will ignite curiosity, foster critical thinking, and instill a lifelong love of learning in your students.

In this role, you will:

  • Deliver engaging Geography lessons up to A Level.
  • Plan and prepare high-quality lessons that challenge and support all learners.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress and development.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes high achievement.
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting students’ academic, personal, and social growth.
  • Build strong partnerships with parents and carers to enhance student success.
  • Contribute to the school’s co-curricular programme, including clubs, trips, and enrichment activities.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the Humanities Faculty and the wider school community.
  • Engage in professional development and continuous improvement activities.
  • Uphold the highest standards of safeguarding, wellbeing, and student welfare.

Person Specification

We are looking for candidates who possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • The ability to teach Geography up to A Level.
  • Strong subject knowledge and understanding of current curriculum developments.
  • A passion for student achievement and excellent classroom practice.
  • The ability to engage, motivate, and inspire young people of all abilities.
  • Strong assessment and data analysis skills to support student progress.
  • Effective behaviour management and classroom organization skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and a collaborative spirit.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and student wellbeing.
  • A willingness to contribute to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities.
