Your Role

As a HVAP Shift Lead, you will oversee critical building operations in a mission-critical environment. Your leadership will ensure compliance with safe systems of work while maintaining the performance and reliability of essential M&E infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate shift engineering operations within a critical environment
  • Monitor and manage plant performance via BMS and CAFM systems
  • Ensure all PPMs, reactive tasks, and statutory compliance activities are completed within SLA
  • Manage HVAP responsibilities, including isolations, permits to work, and safe systems of work
  • Oversee incident management, escalations, and emergency response procedures
  • Maintain accurate shift logs, technical reports, and operational documentation
  • Supervise contractors and engineering teams to ensure safe and efficient delivery
  • Support energy efficiency and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide shift cover and operational support when required

Requirements

  • NVQ/City & Guilds Level 3 in Electrical Installation or equivalent
  • 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification
  • Previous experience in a critical environment, data centre, or high-profile commercial site
  • HV Authorised Person (HVAP) status is essential
  • Strong understanding of critical M&E systems, BMS, and CAFM platforms
  • Experience leading engineering teams in a shift environment
  • Excellent knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
