About the Role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We’re excited to announce an opportunity for an Electrically Biased Quality Control Engineer to join our dynamic team at NG Bailey. If you have a passion for ensuring quality in electrical building service projects and are based in the Glasgow-Edinburgh central belt region, we want to hear from you!

In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting our electrical projects across Scotland. You’ll ensure that all electrical systems meet regulatory, legislative, and specification standards before they reach our customers. Your expertise will guide our project quality team and stakeholders throughout the project life cycle.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Champion health and safety, ensuring a safety-first culture in all project activities.
  • Collaborate with operations and commissioning teams to develop project-specific Quality Control Management Systems (QCMS).
  • Ensure all MEP systems are covered by inspection and test plans, tracking production, approval, and completion.
  • Monitor installation progress and conduct surveillance to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
  • Engage with design and operations teams to utilize NG Bailey’s preferred suppliers early in the process.
  • Review the quality of our supply chain, ensuring subcontractors adhere to internal procedures.
  • Verify the use of NGB approved products and materials, including factory witness testing of major equipment.
  • Ensure team members hold necessary qualifications and competencies, providing training and toolbox talks as needed.
  • Conduct regular audits, identifying and escalating non-conformances or defects.
  • Provide insightful project reviews and reports as required.
  • Coordinate with operations and commissioning teams to create project QC and commissioning action plans.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a candidate with significant experience as an electrical engineer or leader/supervisor, equipped with relevant electrical qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of electrical systems in a building services environment.
  • Completion of an electrical apprenticeship or possession of relevant electrical qualifications.
  • Familiarity with modern and traditional installation methods compliant with relevant standards.
  • CSCS Card, IOSH, CDM, SMSTS certifications.
