About the Role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our dynamic team in Glasgow! In this pivotal role, you will implement best commercial practices to enhance the profitability and financial performance of medium to large projects.

This is a permanent position with NG Bailey, and candidates must be able to obtain security clearance to work on this project.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Safety First: Ensure our safety-first message is visible and upheld in all project activities.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor Quantity Surveyors and Assistant Quantity Surveyors as needed.
  • Contract Management: Review and interpret contract terms, identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to all contract aspects and liaise with project teams on status.
  • Change Management: Identify and manage the agreement process for changes to contractual obligations.
  • Cash Flow: Take charge of cash flow forecasting and manage payment submissions and receipts.
  • Cost Monitoring: Monitor and forecast costs and revenue throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Procurement: Assist in the procurement and management of subcontractors.
  • Reporting: Provide accurate reports on costs, projections, liabilities, sales, and margins.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Develop and maintain positive relationships with all stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Final Account Negotiation: Collaborate with the project team and Commercial Manager to negotiate final account settlements.
  • Record Keeping: Ensure all necessary records and reports are generated and maintained.
  • Dispute Resolution: Assist in any dispute resolution processes.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience managing the commercial aspects of medium to large MEP/construction projects.
  • English and Maths GCSE or equivalent.
  • Relevant BSc/degree or equivalent, or a willingness to work towards it.
