Are you ready to take the lead in delivering exceptional fault response and repair works? Freedom is thrilled to offer an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Project Manager to spearhead our Cable Engineering Services contract with Northern Powergrid. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality execution of projects across the region.

Your Key Responsibilities

As an Electrical Project Manager, you will:

  • Oversee daily operations for fault works, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to specification.
  • Lead and manage a dynamic team of Field Managers, Supervisors, Planners, Engineers, and Site Operatives.
  • Act as the primary operational contact with Northern Powergrid, fostering strong client relationships.
  • Ensure compliance with all HSQE policies, procedures, and legal requirements.
  • Manage multiple fault projects from planning through to energisation and handover.
  • Plan and allocate resources effectively to meet project demands.
  • Monitor KPIs and implement improvements to achieve contract performance targets.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of documentation, including RAMS and as-built records.
  • Liaise with local authorities, subcontractors, and key stakeholders to support project delivery.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Qualifications:

  • Experience in a senior operational role within cable installation, utilities, or power distribution.
  • Strong knowledge of LV/HV cable networks, ideally within a DNO environment.
  • Understanding of fault processes in a regulated utility environment.
  • Proven leadership and team management skills.
  • Strong client and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Good commercial awareness and contract management experience.
  • NEBOSH/IOSH or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience working on Northern Powergrid contracts.
  • Knowledge of streetworks.
  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM).
