About the Role

Exciting times are ahead! NG Bailey's Engineering team has just completed a stunning, state-of-the-art building for the University of Bristol, and we’re gearing up to mobilize our Facilities Services team to keep it running smoothly. We’re on the lookout for an experienced Resident Compliance Manager to take the lead on health, safety, and compliance from day one.

This is your chance to shape a new contract from the ground up! You’ll work closely with the Contract Manager, becoming their right-hand person on site. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to step into the Contract Manager role during their absence, paving the way for your career growth as the contract evolves.

Your Key Responsibilities

As our Compliance Manager, you will:

  • Lead with Safety: Provide visible, hands-on health, safety, and compliance leadership, embedding our "Safety First and Foremost" culture throughout the contract.
  • Be the Expert: Serve as the go-to authority on health, safety, and compliance, offering practical advice to the Contract Manager and operational team.
  • Build Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with clients and site stakeholders, promoting collaboration and best practices.
  • Conduct Inspections: Carry out regular site inspections, audits, and compliance reviews against NG Bailey and client standards.
  • Investigate Incidents: Get involved in incident and near-miss investigations, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Represent Safety: Act as the health and safety representative at operational meetings, client forums, and safety briefings.
  • Step Up: Cover the Contract Manager during their leave, acting as the recognized second-in-command on the contract.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking an engaging, safety-focused professional who thrives on being the go-to person on site and enjoys building relationships. You’ll bring:

  • A NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 health and safety qualification).
  • Solid knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
  • Experience in Facilities Management, Building Services, or M&E maintenance.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence at all levels.
  • The drive to work independently while fostering effective relationships across operational teams.
