Basic Salary: £24,890 FTE (£14,934 actual)
Hours: 22.5 hours per week, 3 days a week (including one day at Plumpton College)
Contract: Fixed Term, Term Time Only

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a One-to-One Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in mentoring and supporting our pupils. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated support to one pupil or a small group (max. five pupils).
  • Assisting the classroom teacher during lessons.
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupils' progress and concerns.
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom activities, including extracurricular events and school trips.
  • Helping with lesson planning and classroom preparation.
  • Setting and marking work as needed.
  • Building positive relationships to foster engagement and positive learning outcomes.

What We’re Looking For

We seek passionate individuals who meet the following criteria:

  • A strong educational background, ideally to A-level, with at least GCSE Grade C or equivalent in English Language and Mathematics.
  • Previous experience in a similar role, such as a Teaching Assistant.
  • Experience working with pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Confidence to lead in a specialism (e.g., reading, mathematics, or forest school).
  • Knowledge of behaviour management techniques.
  • A commitment to professional development and a willingness to learn.
