Hours: 25 hours per week, 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday

Join Our Team! Acre Wood Day Nursery is searching for a passionate and dedicated Nursery Chef to be a vital part of our kitchen team. If you love preparing nutritious meals for children and want to gain hands-on experience in food preparation, kitchen operations, and hygiene standards, this is the perfect opportunity for you!

This full-time role offers 25 hours per week with flexible shift patterns. Please note that this is a year-round position, as our nursery operates continuously and is not term-time only.

Your Responsibilities:

• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all hygiene standards.
• Complete the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly and ensure the Cleaning Schedule is up-to-date.
• Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food waste.
• Communicate dietary requirements clearly with the team to ensure all needs are met.
• Collaborate with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
• Manage food orders within budget to maintain high-quality service.

Requirements:

• Proven knowledge of managing dietary requirements, especially food allergies.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations.
• Ability to work within a catering budget while maintaining food quality.
• Experience in cooking, either in domestic or commercial settings.
• Fluency in written and spoken English (GCSE grade C or equivalent).
• Passion for cooking for young children is a plus!
