Location: Fordingbridge Day Nursery

Salary: £28,652 per annum

Hours: Monday to Friday - 38 hours per week

Your Role as Nursery Chef

As our Nursery Chef, you will:

  • Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to hygiene standards and completing the Kitchen Hygiene Checklist monthly.
  • Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery and kitchen.
  • Prepare and cook age-appropriate meals for children, minimizing food waste.
  • Accommodate dietary requirements and communicate them clearly to the team.
  • Collaborate with nursery staff and parents to promote healthy eating habits.
  • Manage food orders within budgetary constraints.

What You Need to Succeed

To thrive in this role, you should have:

  • Strong knowledge of managing dietary requirements, especially food allergies (essential).
  • Understanding of COSHH regulations (essential).
  • Experience working within a catering budget (essential).
  • Relevant cooking experience in domestic or commercial settings (essential).
  • Fluency in written and spoken English at GCSE grade C (or equivalent) (essential).
  • A passion for cooking for young children (desirable).
