Location: Leeds / Hybrid Working

Contract: Fixed Term – 30 hours per week

Salary: Up to £55,000 FTE, depending on experience, plus benefits

Your Role

We are on the lookout for a Finance Manager to join our IT Services Division on a fixed-term contract, focusing on our Data Cabling business. In this pivotal role, you will be the key Finance Business Partner to the Operational Director, driving financial performance and supporting operational decision-making across a diverse portfolio of projects and contracts.

Key Responsibilities

As our Finance Manager, you will:

  • Partner with the Operational Director and senior management to provide high-quality financial and non-financial insights.
  • Lead project and contract reviews with Project Managers, ensuring accurate forecasting and cost assessments.
  • Prepare monthly management accounts, including all month-end adjustments.
  • Produce rolling forecasts and detailed revenue and margin projections, challenging variances with Operations.
  • Manage balance sheet reconciliations and support schedules.
  • Identify and report business risks and opportunities.
  • Oversee working capital reporting, including debtor plans and cashflow optimization.
  • Represent finance in monthly business review meetings with the senior leadership team.
  • Support bids, tenders, and commercial reviews with financial analysis.
  • Assist with annual budgets, audits, and year-end processes.
  • Drive process improvements through ERP and operational efficiencies.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and financial analysis to enhance business performance.
  • Collaborate with divisional finance to improve reporting, governance, and financial discipline.

What We’re Looking For

We seek a commercially focused finance professional who excels at building strong relationships and influencing business performance. Ideally, you will have:

  • A full qualification in ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent.
  • Experience in a Finance Manager, Finance Business Partner, or similar role.
  • Strong management accounting, forecasting, and financial control experience.
  • Experience in project-based, contract-led, or services environments.
  • Excellent Excel and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • The confidence to challenge and support non-finance stakeholders.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused approach with excellent attention to detail.

Desirable Experience

  • Strong commercial acumen and business partnering skills.
  • The ability to translate financial data into meaningful business insights.
  • Experience working with operational teams to enhance performance and profitability.
  • A collaborative approach with the confidence to engage across multiple stakeholder groups.
