Priory Hospital Bristol is excited to announce an opportunity for a Registered Mental Health Nurse to join our brand-new mixed acute ward. At Priory Hospital Bristol, located in Stapleton, we specialize in mental health and addiction treatment for individuals, families, and couples. Our facility offers fast access to treatment for a range of psychiatric conditions and addictions, conveniently accessible by public transport.

Your Role and Responsibilities

As a vital member of our compassionate team, you will:

  • Deliver prescribed, person-centred nursing care to a defined patient group.
  • Collaborate with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care.
  • Act as a named nurse, monitoring and reviewing care plans while responding to changes in patients’ needs.
  • Prioritize and delegate nursing duties effectively, taking on nurse-in-charge responsibilities when required.
  • Maintain professional relationships with patients, relatives, and colleagues, contributing to clinical meetings and reflective practice.
  • Support the development of newly qualified staff through preceptorship.
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, Mental Capacity Act, and Priory policies.

What You Bring to the Role

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with 6-12 months post-registration experience.
  • Active NMC Registration and completion of the preceptorship programme.

Beneficial Experience:

  • Minimum 6 months post-registration experience within a Mental Health or Learning Disabilities Care Environment.
