Are you a passionate GMC registered Consultant Psychiatrist looking to make a real difference? We have an exciting opportunity for you on our Adult Acute Ward, offering a competitive salary of £170,000 for a full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week.

Located in Stockport, Priory Hospital Cheadle is an inpatient mental health service dedicated to supporting young people and adults. Our facility is easily accessible via public transport, with local bus routes and nearby railway stations just a short distance away.

What You'll Be Doing

In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in guiding patient recovery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Taking clinical responsibility for patients, leading multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, and developing a therapeutic environment.
  • Serving as the Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
  • Supervising the referral and admission process, including contributing to pre-admission assessments alongside your team.
  • Providing a psychiatric perspective to the multidisciplinary team for the assessment, formulation, and treatment of adults.

What You'll Bring to the Role

Essential Qualifications:
To thrive in this role, you must hold MRCPsych (or an equivalent qualification), a CCT (or equivalent), and be included on the GMC Specialist Register. Additionally, you should have:

  • Section 12(2) approval and Approved Clinician status.
  • Demonstrated clinical knowledge, skills, and experience relevant to the specialty.
  • The ability to work collaboratively within and lead a team.
  • A commitment to shared leadership and service improvement.
  • Evidence of ongoing continuous professional development.
